Through inspiration, innovation, coordination and collaboration, The Traditions Seniors Housing Development Team’s mission is to provide unparalleled care in a safe and secure environment. Founded in 2006, Traditions was launched creating strategic partnerships with industry leaders committed to deliver spaces for living, loving and learning while celebrating the rewards of a lifetime’s achievements.  Bruce Stewart, founder of Traditions, has over 30 years experience in the development, construction and management of senior-specific real estate, using this to provide guidance and oversight of projects such as The Residences on Yonge in Aurora, The Residences on Owen in Barrie, and The Residences on Cumberland in Burlington, all currently under development or construction. The Residences seniors housing chain is operated through the extensive management advisory leadership of Gray Wave Advisory Inc.

Gray Wave Advisory has over 60 years of combined Retirement communities and senior housing industry experience. Founders of Gray Wave, Stephen Picott and Richard Noonan began their long and productive professional relationship at Chartwell Corporation and then Chartwell Seniors Housing REIT over 20 years ago. Both are well versed in all forms of seniors housing and servicing clients with a high degree of satisfaction. They offer clients extensive management advisory services and leadership and are able to assist in a variety of situations. Over the past three years, Gray Wave has led dedicated teams through the pre-opening and operational phases for new retirement residences and senior apartments. Three of these projects are located in Ontario, with the other two in Bristish Columbia and Alberta.  Gray Wave also operates two existing senior's apartments in Alberta, advises on others, and is engaged with five additional projects in the design/ development or construction phase. Gray Wave uses their expertise from industry experience to help clients from development and design all the way through operations ensuring top results.

Brianne Martin

Executive Director

Brianne comes with almost 15 years of working experience in Senior Living in an environment that strives to improve the way care is provided. Brianne oversees the day-to-day operations to ensure that this high quality of care is provided for the residents.  Her passion began in Recreation by motivating and encouraging positive growth in Seniors through a variety of activities. Brianne’s education started with a Bachelor of Gerontology, the study of older people and the issues associated with aging, the purpose being to improve the quality of life as we age. Gerontology encompasses all aspects of physiology, psychology, biology, religious studies, ethics and more.  Brianne’s education also included an Activation Coordinator Diploma which specializes in designing and delivering meaningful therapeutic programs to enhance and improve the lives of the older population and a Retirement Communities Management certificate that focuses

on the managerial experience in Retirement living, specifically in the RHRA legislation. Most recently, Brianne completed her Master of Business. This study increased her awareness of the importance of the team in the workplace and how creating an effective team is the foundation of every organization.

Brittany Terry

Health & Wellness Director

Brittany, Director of Care at The Residences on Yonge has over 12 years experience in nursing, including 3 years as a director in an assisted living and memory care environment. She oversees the resident care needs and ensures each resident has a truly personalized plan of care. Brittany is very knowledgeable, passionate, dedicated, and thoughtful when it comes to the residents and their families. She is looking forward to meeting with you and making your loved one welcome! 

Jules Masset
Sales and Marketing Manager

Jules has attained a wealth of experience over the last 20+ years in various industries across the globe.  From working in London in the film, music, theatre, and travel industry to working in the United States and Canada in corporate sales and marketing, Jules has finally found her true passion, helping those transition to retirement living. Originally from the United Kingdom, Jules resided in Australia and Unites States before settling in Canada. Out of office hours, Jules volunteers her spare time helping seniors combat loneliness through her non-profit company, Let’s Chit Chat!, a virtual social program for seniors.

Lee started with maintenance at a very young age, helping his father with many household repairs and renovations.  He has experience in all areas of construction and building systems and takes great pride in his work.   Lee started working in the retirement industry in 2015, as an assistant manager in the environmental services department.  He enjoyed working with seniors so much, that he decided to stay in the industry, and was quickly promoted to manager.  He looks forward to keeping The Residences on Yonge clean and a safe place to live.

Orli is an experienced clinician with 14 years of clinical tenure across various care and educational landscapes where she delivers quality of care and value of service to her patients / clients. 

Orli is a personable clinician with passion for geriatrics that practices independently to full scope. Orli is a mother of three energetic boys, who enjoys traveling and reading books.

Cassandra Byrnes
Office Manager

Cassandra offers The Residences on Yonge a degree in business and over 20 years of office experience. Some of her duties in the office will include billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, human resources, and assisting the ED.  She values honesty and integrity and is kind and respectful. One of her favourite past times are sitting with residents drinking tea and listening to stories of time past or getting defeated at a game of GIN.  


Cassandra loves all animals, travelling, and reading mystery novels; everything from Agatha Christie to M.C. Beaton. She also enjoys spending time doing puzzles and playing with her Great Dane Mastiff dog, Chevy. She’s excited to have a chat with you.

Mike is a passionate Recreation Leader whose is dedicated in creating vibrant and inclusive communities, stemming from his diverse range of experiences. His mindful approach in enhancing social, mental and physical well-being fosters personal growth and community cohesion. He recognizes the unique perspectives of all residents and strives to create an environment where everyone feels valued and included. Mike's commitment to delivering inclusive and memorable experiences is evident in his empathetic approach, fostering a sense of belonging for all. With a wealth of knowledge from community recreation, post-secondary and corporate operations, Mike brings extensive programming insights and creativity into a more intimate environment for optimal personal care. Whether it's fitness programs, cultural events, or social gatherings, Mike's goal is to provide opportunities for individuals to not only enjoy themselves but also to contribute to the overall vitality of the community.

Food Service Manager


Joyce has been in the Food Service industry for 24 years, starting off her Career in a Bakery where she quickly was motivated to become the Cake Decorator for 4 years. She continued to grow with the company and became the night Baker for 10 years. She decided to take on a new role at Georgian College where she became the Lead Hand back of house, where she learned a lot of skills and quickly became the cook preparing daily menus for all students and College staff, as she learned more about food safety and running the kitchen she was promoted to Chef Manager. Joyce also spent the 4 last years focused on The Retirement Community where she was a Cook/Food Service Supervisor, being all her skills to come join us at The Residences on Yonge.




Joyce has 3 children and likes to travel back home to Newfoundland, she does a lot of camping in the summer months, she loves the sun.Mike is a passionate Recreation Leader whose is dedicated in creating vibrant and inclusive communities, stemming from his diverse range of experiences.
